For individuals coming from another care or educational setting, we take time to learn about their health needs and what makes them feel safe, happy, and understood—so we can tailor the experience just for them.
Whenever possible, we recommend a phased transition, with gentle introductions and short visits that build up to longer stays. This allows your loved one to get to know the home, the team, and fellow residents in a way that feels natural and reassuring.
We’ll also work with you to make sure their room reflects their personality—decorated with familiar comforts and equipped to meet their needs, so it feels like theirs from the moment they arrive.
Your loved one will soon be settling into an exciting new chapter as part of the Martha Trust community. Here, we offer your loved one compassion, friendship and encouragement, supporting them to lead a full and contented life. They’ll be invited to join group activities and outings with fellow residents, alongside experiences thoughtfully tailored to their individual interests and needs. Once they feel comfortable, we’ll introduce them to our personalised communications programme to help them express themselves.
Their wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do—including access to customised therapies and relaxing sessions in our on-site hydrotherapy pool, designed to soothe, uplift, and give a sense of freedom out of the confines of their wheelchair.
We encourage families to visit whenever you’d like. To make sure they’re not off enjoying an outing or immersed in an activity, we suggest giving us a call before you set off.
We also fully support families who wish to spend quality time with their loved ones—whether that’s at home or enjoying a holiday together. All we ask is that you chat with the Home Manager and care team ahead of time so we can make sure everything your loved one needs—medications and personal essentials—is thoughtfully prepared for a smooth and enjoyable trip.
