Activities and specialist therapies

Leading a full and contented life.

At Martha Trust, we take great pride in offering far more than just basic care. Our comprehensive activities programme ensures that residents can lead fulfilling lives, regardless of their disabilities.

Our comprehensive programme of activities is carefully designed to offer variety, choice, and individualised engagement. From group outings to personal interests, everything is tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. The result? More smiles, deeper relaxation, boosted confidence, and valuable social connections.

Thanks to our specially adapted vehicles, residents can explore local shops, attractions, community events, and enjoy day trips, as well as attend essential appointments with ease. These experiences help everyone feel included, empowered, and connected to the wider world.

At Martha, therapies are at the heart of what we do—crafted around each person to be stimulating, empowering, and most importantly, fun. Our state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated specialists deliver a wide range of therapies in safe, welcoming spaces.

With hydrotherapy pools at our Hastings and Deal locations, residents can experience the physical and emotional freedom of warm water movement. These sessions soothe muscles, stimulate circulation, support digestion, and offer moments of joy and closeness—especially for families who may not otherwise enjoy such physical connection.

Our therapeutic programme includes:

  • Physiotherapy to support healing, improve mobility, and ease pain related to joints, posture, or respiratory challenges.
  • Reflexology that applies gentle pressure to the feet, helping to restore internal balance and relieve tension.
  • Music therapy, open to all abilities, to reduce stress and enhance coordination, memory, and self-expression.
  • Sensory room experiences featuring fibre-optic curtains, light displays, soothing sounds, and tactile materials—designed to engage, calm, and inspire interaction with the environment.
  • Pamper sessions, offering relaxing massages, manicures, and pedicures in peaceful, sensory-friendly settings.

There’s always something exciting on offer at Martha—from arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, and games to reading groups, themed celebrations, and more. Our fully equipped therapy suite with its giant touchscreen TV adds a playful touch to everyday support.

And of course, when quiet time is needed, our homes provide inviting, restful spaces for residents to unwind and recharge.
